The WESA recreational soccer program kicks off after Labor Day.

400 players and almost 75 adult volunteers are involved every year. Our adult coaches are all either F Licensed or NYSCA-registered. The season runs through October, with playoffs in November. The games are played at the West End complex behind Marrazzo’s and CVS. Players ages 4 - 17 participate in six Divisions. It all ends with a giant pizza party and awards in December.

• May 1, 2009: Online registration for Fall 2009 Recreational season opens.
• July 1, 2009: Deadline for discounted Online registration
• August 19: Coaching clinic for Recreational coaches.
• September 16: Team picture date.
• September 19/20: Fall Travel Season starts.

The competitive dividison of West End Soccer Association will field three teams for the 2009-2010 season, playing in the Mid-New Jersey Youth Soccer Association (MNJSA). The three boys teams will be in the groups under 10 years old (U10), as well as U11 and U13. Tryouts were held in three sessions during month of May, drawing 60 players. Participants will be contacted by coaching staff as to who qualified or not. To players not making the teams this year: See you in rec soccer in September - and keep touching the soccer ball!

Youth soccer should emphasize having fun, learning skills, and learning good
sportsmanship. Playing competitively should not be emphasized until children have
mastered the basic skills. While the object of the game is to win, children should not
be pressured to win, only to try their best.
